THROWBACK: 67 ride out on 'Take It There'

There’s little debate who carved the way for UK drill as 67, if not at number 1, are certainly stable leaders in the core of the cruddy genre. One of their earliest records is the ice cold, ‘Take It There’.

Taken from the team’s 2015 release of In Skengs We Trust, this record is a calm type of dangerous. The Carns Hill production hangs in the mix as tubular bells echo out; subs thud; a gritty snare licks through; and hi hats tap.

The Brixton Hill conglomerate display their, now familiar, laid back but threatening style, as it fuses true with the instrumental’s bleakness. We are introduced to 4 members of the rap group - Monkey, Dimzy and Asap, whilst LD picks up the chorus. Heavy ‘lifestyle’/’reality’ bars are pushed by the South London rappers as they rhyme on their surroundings and activities portraying fearlessness.
