StillSeventeen's Danzey & VB squad up to devise 'Less is More EP'

Danzey and VB work together to create a dynamic EP entitled Less is More. Both bringing their respective styles, thoughts and stories.

For those unaware, VB is on bits. Excuse the copy and paste but his team sum up his recent achievements perfectly.

Following the success of ‘Pour Some More 2’ - VB’s third EP released on the 1st of October 2018 which quickly racked up over 120k Spotify streams with in house promotion alone. He went on to release three tracks from the EP, most notably with successes through ‘Trap Come 1st’ being featured on GRM DAILY and ‘Homecoming’ being featured on MIXTAPE MADNESS.

For myself, this is an exciting introduction to the young man and someone I’ve definitely woken up to, as Wiley would say. Danzey, who has collabed with fellow North London rapper Abra Cadabra, has a noticeable and unique style - “an infectious trademark sound” that blends effortlessly with soft basslines and smooth timbres. VB contributes with straights raps - a confidence that is unmatched, delivering an honest, laid back output of struggles, sacrifices and successes.

The EP’s hard. It’s smooth. It’s deep. It’s real. It’s intriguing - both artists are. It’s full of stories; knowledge; experience; lessons; Ls and wins. It floats through the 5 tracks seamlessly, as if they are all conjoined together. It’s one big musical output from these two men - one that all ties together and intertwines with a similar vibe throughout.
Prosper’ jumps in with lessons and awareness of the artist’s realities - the title alone is a great opening song for the tape, an excellent introduction and starting point. ‘Psmii’ manipulates a lyric sample from Mtume ‘Juicy Fruit’ (made famous by Biggie) but gives its own melodic twist on it, as well as similar harmonies from the classic record. “Missed Calls” sees Danzey’s curious style enter the scene as his flow and pitch bounce across the mix, something that could rival the same energy as Young Thug. “Tyme” and “Brazy” seem to take the mood down a notch even more, as slow percussion and atmospheric sounds are found in both.

Check the EP below and let us know what you think, plus follow these two artists on social medias, Instagram especially - VB’s is patterned up too slick. Less is More was released on March 17th, so it will be good to see whether we are welcomed with future visuals from the project.
