Gilly Man Giro opens up on the reality of being 'Addicted'

UK hip-hop heavyweight Gilly Man Giro, lets us in to his honesty and reality in ‘Addicted’.

Taken from the upcoming sophomore album ,Today, Gilly opens up with tremendous amounts of honesty, into the subject matter of addiction. Seemingly expressing his own experiences and lifestyle, the hip-hop artist delves into the dark world of dealing with such issues; day's thought processes; difficulties; and insecurities. The video, directed by Oliver Whitehouse and released via Sektion Red, portrays this into visuals.

Produced by Stu the Don for Ill Prepared Records, the beat contains an almost soul-destroying guitar melody, so delicate, yet using notes that truly pulls at the fabric of this subject’s sorrow. Open and raw percussion holds the mix steady as Gilly walks us through his lyrics.

It's a very real record, and an extremely vulnerable place to put oneself in. Props to this man for going there, and creating a great piece of music to express it. Hopefully there is solace here, in music as a form of therapy, or other people in similar positions relating with this.
