Izzie Gibbs spazzes on 'Mad About Bars' (Part 2)
After unfortunately stepping away from the mic for some time, Izzie Gibbs has begun to push his way back into the conversation. This second ‘Mad About Bars’ portrays the MCs unique energy; almost violent output of lyrical skill; and his apparent built up excitement to jump back into music.
Northampton’s Izzie Gibbs crashes back into his infamous freestyles with a part 2 of ‘Mad About Bars’ - and “crashes” isn’t an exaggeration. The young grime star gets into it with Kenny Allstar in the only way he knows how - with massive energy; lyrical aggression; and a stack of wicked bars. Captivatingly, Gibbs performs like he’s possessed by some gritty demon, and with a great deal of laid back, aloof drill artists covering the airwaves, it’s refreshing to see this passion and intensity in a vocalist.
The guy is a force and dangerous when he gets in his pocket; not to mentioned he goes for nearly 7 minutes. It’s good to see him back in the limelight and exciting to see what the rest of 2019 has in store for him (/us…hopefully a project).
Notable bars include:
”Lean in my cup, same colour as a cramp twin.” - big cartoon!
”True say I’m from country, I’m outlandish.”
”I never had no options, I had to OT bop. 15 years old, tryna help mummsy, so I made O’zy drop.”
Gibbs proceeds to slow it down on a second riddim before ramping it back up on a third; displaying versatility, and letting those that need it, the time to understand him fully.
