Koffee & Govana control mayhem on 'Rapture Remix'

After the original ‘Rapture’ gained substantial notoriety - over 5.5m plays on Spotify - breakthrough artist Koffee, acquires J.O.P’s Govana for a forceful remix.

“Koffee come in like a rapture” - is a straight fact!

Initiated by a smooth melody, round, thick bass, and sharp snare hits; the record commences. Deep thuds from a kick drum begin alongside the main act; the young, talented, and extraordinary, Koffee. The musical atmosphere is mellow and lowkey; allowing space and meaning for the two artists to develop from. Though lowkey, movement in the track is full from the swishing bass and rhythmic percussion.

To elevate this motion is Koffee and Govana - both bringing jumpy flows and their own melodies (to which Koffee particularly kills on the 2nd verse). The pair perform back to back, laying 4 bars after one another within the verses. The Spanish Town star portrays utter lyrical talent and creativity, which makes the record even that much more enjoyable to listen to and understand. Notables include: “When them see the lyrics contractor.”; “Tell them Jah give me no limit, no. Dem say Koffee but you a whole midget, grow.”; “Mi too profound. Kill them with the verbs and with the pro-nouns.”

Govana humbly dedicates his 2nd verse to the young, dancehall apprentice as he raps, “Give her the mic and give her four minutes. And just listen when she flow lyrics. Koffee annuh coffee, mi say no gimmicks. She a pro with it, treat the riddim like she grow with it.”

The visuals find Koffee and Govana rapping in their communities. Starting with bright blue settings we are introduced to Koffee as she seemingly walks her way to her associates. Now, settled with Govana, the pair perform together amongst shots of local people and places; bright colours; and sunlight scenery. The second half of the video, seems hold the dusk - potentially this day and night translation of the artist’s personality, or characteristics of the “rapture”. This is when the biblical events take place as we witness lit torches; black-clothed groups; possessed individuals; darkness; and the pair seemingly controlling it all.
