KR Word Tech [Kasha Rae] delivers a clear warning to 'Fake Ones'
Kasha Rae is fairly illusive with his music, yet as of this year, has dubbed his new title as KR The Word Technician. In this latest track he “makes a bid for Top 5 lyricist in the UK. A slice of future classic UK Hip-Hop - pure fire bars from start to finish; a display of real skill levels and a clear warning to the 'Fake Ones'“ (KR Word Tech. 2019).
The above quote, taken from the single’s description, was just so perfect and suited that I had to share it. If you are familiar with KR’s reign from back in the day - ‘Suits’; ‘Anuva Rap Tune’; ‘I’m Back’; ‘So Fly’ - then you know the quality and skill this artist presents.
Returning under Jaguar Records, “The Word Technician” goes in on fake ones - ones who act act other than themselves; ones that mask their true selves and wish to access a ‘rougher’ life because of the ‘coolness’ they think is attached.
The track begins with Rae speaking his confusion on these fake ones - “I see them, coming for their two parent, 4 bedroom houses in lovely land. Talk about they do road. We spend our whole lives trying to get out this ghetto. You trying to get in? You’s a funny fucker blood.” With The Warning EP coming soon, this is some fantastic content to hear from the MC before a full-length project. As always, KR projects his rhyming talent, intellectual philosophies, consciousness, and realness.
The smooth instrumental is produced by Composure Beats. Containing choir gasps, soft strings, and stable drums, this beat is chilled, clean and mellow. All these elements allowing for KR to step forward, take control and convey his statement.
Directed by DeafNick Visuals, we see interesting shots of KR rapping with some excellent edits. This also pushes KR into the main focus, allowing us to focus on his raps, message and performance.
