Terra G pours heart out in 'No More'
Tower Hamlets rapper Terra G opens up in the visuals to ‘No More’.
Originally released a year ago via his SoundCloud, this record, as Terra puts it is “dedicated to my daughter that passed in February 3rd 2018 but this single is not about just my pain, it’s about whoever this song also relates to that’s ever lost a lil one” (Terra G. 2018). We are now introduced to the visuals for this amazing song.
Kumi on the Film (@ejiro_kvmi & @rukewe_kvmi) directed the open and isolated shots within this piece. We are presented with, seemingly parallel emotions to what Terra may have gone through - wide, open, almost empty shots; slow, contemplative scenes; and deserted settings. A phenomenal shot at 0:19 mark shows the East London native’s white-clothed outline solely alone amongst a vast stretch of land.
Produced by BlackLionsBeatz, the instrumental sets an excellent, passionate tone for Terra to leap from. Slow drums, whining guitars, and numbing bass place the listener in a sense of consideration for this man and others that feel this pain. As mentioned before, Terra created this song for his daughter. We can hear the concern and despair seep from his voice as he produces a mix of rapping and singing. He touches on his life now, his family, coldness, destructive thoughts, relationships, and the chorus that only those who know can relate - “I ain’t the same no more. Things ain’t the same no more”.
