THROWBACK: Sway ignites phenomenal talents on 'This Is My Demo'

As the leading track from This Is My Demo, the same-named single issues in Sway’s colossal rap reign and shinning lyrical talents.

Sway was a UK rap force - partnering with the top MCs'; getting recognition from the States; signing to Akon’s Konvict Muzik; and achieving notable commercial success. In 2006 he released his debut album, This Is My Demo; a testament to him fully igniting his music career.

A jumping drum beat and funky bass line hold the motion of this record. It’s upbeat; it’s UK rap; it’s a large, confident introduction. Sway’s flow flutters around these sounds as his infamous, quick rhyming skill shines through. He holds a perfect merge of quality candances and decent content, and at a speed that few other artist can manage.

He continues to offer an insight and initiation into himself - his life, his artistry, his environment and his mind. Anyone who remembers the power Sway had on a track, will easily understand how phenomenal he is as artist. He saw huge heights in his career, but since then, hasn’t been the most prominent with music. In his defense, he has recently dropped One For The Journey and Verse From the Vault (1 and 2) - but the guy was dipping with Akon, Chamillionaire, took himself of the Pow Remix then dropped his own shelly version; and now unfortunately, I can’t remember the last time I heard his name. We can assume he’s still active, but it would be great to see him back in the spotlight due to the pure talent he held, and not to mention his rich and positive content.
